Sik-K: POP A LOT

While less hip hop than pop/adult contemporary adjacent (as is the trend across the board in Korea), Sik-K's POP A LOT is not an unpleasant listen. There’s certainly more authenticity and veritas in this effort than his collaboration with HAON earlier in the year.

There are moments of clear ruggedness (“Got Lost,” “Give Me Lit (feat. M Huncho),” “PLUTO, PLUTo, PLUto, PLuto, Pluto”), but it errs on the side of gentle for the vast majority of the album. Certainly not as impactful of a punch as his more aggressive work, of course. But, again, not unpleasant.

Sik-K once again impresses with the quality of production and the willingness to experiment and bring some nuance.
