Se So Neon – Nonadaptation

As with Hyukoh, Se So Neon has released music that’s more grounded in something closer to their roots in blues-rock. “Nonadaptation” is beautiful, hearty, full of the same whimsical spirit that saw them leap to notoriety with “A Long Dream.” Soyoon’s voice is obviously a thing of absolute perfection. But as a band, they have an energy, a spirit, a voice that’s just so full of life. The title is apt. While they’ve grown into themselves as a band, even adjusted as best as they can to the fame, they’ve never lost their foundation. Never adapted to norms that could possibly see them hit a peak of international visibility much sooner. I can’t help but adore that about the trio.
