This is what happens when you cross Chance the Rapper with Tyler the Creator and add just a splash of old-school soul. DAMYE’s second full-length album sees the young artist reach for lighter fare than his debut. Where “LIFE’S A LOOP” was more emotive diary, “The Sandwich Artist” peels back another layer of the young man, revealing at his core his good-natured spirit. He has much depth, but at the end of the day he’s an artist who works at Subway to pay his bills. There’s no shortage of inspiration working in the service industry. DAMYE has allowed his environment to work so well for him.
